Empower | Heal | Educate

Marigold Therapy is a leading provider of expressive arts-based therapy for individuals, groups, and expressive arts-based clinical supervision.

Marigold Therapy can help you or your loved ones explore new possibilities for living a fulfilled life.

We offer services to older teens and adults of all abilities, specializing in supporting people with a learning, intellectual, or developmental disability to work through grief, loss, and exclusion as well as everyday shitty life events.

We support parents, families, caregivers, and first responders heal from living in a world that doesn’t understand that people with disabilities have a voice in how they live their lives and want what we all want—choice, love, and purpose.

Marigold Therapy serves the Twin-Cities metro-area in person, and residents of Minnesota via telehealth.

Are you fighting an uphill battle to find someone to help that uses creative therapeutic techniques that don’t just involve talking?

Are you feeling stuck? You know what you “should” be doing, but don’t know why you haven’t been able to yet?

Are you looking for a safe space for you or your loved one to express how they feel honestly and learn coping skills related to stressful life events? Have they refused therapy citing distrust, boredom, or no connection?

Are you feeling defeated? You have a team of people that support you but they have set the bar so high for you to achieve any of your goals that you just accept your life as it is. Or you don’t even really know what you want in life anymore because people have been speaking for you instead of listening to you?

Are you grieving the loss of a person, pet, relationship or identity and the world is telling you to “move on,” or that you aren’t grieving “the right way?”

Using creative processes I help people heal from feeling excluded from making decisions about their life, from past maltreatment, from losing a relationship or identity, as well as everyday shitty life events.

The people I support struggle like you do—despite being smart, supportive of those they love, and funny as hell. Even though most people don’t take them seriously they keep trying because their life matters and they deserve a life with meaning and purpose.

When they first see me they are scared that I am just another person who is going to tell them what to do or who they “should” be.

They worry that everytime they want to make a change in their life something or someone will hold them back or if they succeed their team won’t follow through.

They have been told they can’t date or have sex because they “won’t understand” or “what if. . . ” over and over even though dating can be done safely.

Their parents, family, or caregivers are frustrated and at their wits end trying to figure out why Jojo’s team can’t work together or why Jojo won’t brush their teeth. They get anxious and sick to their stomach when they have to attend a “meeting” because Jojo wants to move or the team wants to talk about Jojo’s “behavior.”

Before they came to see me they felt guilty for being frustrated or angry with others, drained from trying extra hard to be heard, and feared that this pattern was just their life now.

Like the people I support, you deserve to choose your own path, heal from your past, and learn from your mistakes.

If you want to gain some control back in your life, feel confident in stating what you want out of life, and heal old wounds I would love to help you get there.

Contact me now. I can and I want to help.

I believe creative expression can empower people by building self-esteem, can heal by giving us a voice to our painful experiences, and educate by helping us remember who we are and who we want to be.

It’s also a way to have fun and play!
